Albinism is a rare genetic condition that one is born with and results in very light skin, hair, and eyes. This is due to the insufficient production of melanin than usual in the body. Did you know?Melanin gives skin, hair, and eyes their color. Except for vision irregularities, most people with albinism are just as healthy as the next person.A care team for people with Albinism may include a primary care provider, a specialist in eye care called an ophthalmologist and a Specialist in skin care called a Dermatologist. For more information: https://lnkd.in/dT9sPGK5

Ethnic differences in hair are complex but important to understand for proper hair care. Scalp hair shape, density, color, and other properties vary between broad groups like Caucasian, Asian, and African. But diversity also exists within these groups.Asian hair is typically straight with a round cross-section. African hair tends to be tightly coiled with variable diameter. Caucasian hair is highly diverse - straight to tightly curled. Density also differs, with Asians having the lowest and Caucasians the highest. While hair biochemistry is quite similar across ethnicities, some variations in protein composition exist. Other differences are seen in common hair/scalp disorders. Traction alopecia, for instance, primarily affects African hair.Body and vellus (fine) hair also differ. Chest and leg hair density is highest in Caucasians. Asian women rarely develop hirsutism despite normal androgen levels. Vellus hair density on the forehead is highest in Caucasians.Overall, ethnic hair diversity is complex but important for developing individualized hair care. With guidance from experts like Dr. Aria Moradkhani of DermExpertise, optimal regimens can be created for hair health and beauty.#ethnichair #haircare #diversity #dermatology#DrAriaMoradkhani #DermExpertise
