HunterDescription

Seo Jiwoo

Seo Jiwoo is amongst the most uniquely powerful Hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise because much of her strength is derived from the Cooldown resets granted by her Training Passive. When Jiwoo uses three Skills that activate her Passive, her Cooldowns instantly reset. This makes her a great addition to any team composition since she can stay on the field for lengthy periods and continually provide value. Jiwoo also brings insane Break potential and provides Shields for herself and her teammates.

Cha Hae-In

Cha Hae-In is a powerhouse that deals an ungodly amount of damage per second and can stop enemies from healing. On top of already high damage multipliers, Cha Hae-In's kit is built around dealing extra Critical Damage to quickly cut through opponents. Hae-In's The Dancer effect exponentially increases your Attack and Critical Hit Damage, while targets hit with her Brand effect have a heightened chance of taking Critical Hits and receiving more substantial Critical Damage.

Min Byung-Gu

Min Byung-Gu is the best Healer in the game rivaled only by Meilin Fisher. Byung-Gu can help your entire team recover substantial amounts of HP, increase damage taken by opponents, and provide sizable Critical Hit Damage buffs. Though his damage doesn't stack up to Cha Hae-In and other elite damage dealers, Byung-Gu can hold his own enough without being a liability to your team's overall damage output.

Choi Jong-In

Choi Jong-In is another exceptional damage dealer despite being unable to inflict Critical Hit damage. Equipped with terrific damage multipliers, a Passive that buffs his Attack by 40%, and an ability to Burn enemies to amplify his damage, very few Hunters can outmatch this offensive star. As if that wasn't enough, Jong-In can provide Defensive Debuffs, increase Defensive Penetration, and his Ultimate hits like a truck while resetting his Skills.

Emma Laurent

Despite being a Tank, Emma Laurent provides some of the best damage in Solo Leveling: Arise, making her a well-balanced Hunter who can slot into any team composition. Emma provides tons of Break, Burn, and AoE Damage, while providing buffs such as HP Recovery or Defense Penetration. If you're fortunate enough to draw an Emma Laurent duplicate, advancing her once will make her more of a force to be reckoned with by significantly increasing the Break damage of her Burn Up Skill.

Alicia Blanche

Alicia Blanche is an absurdly powerful DPS that outshines nearly everyone on the roster. On top of her first-class damage multipliers, Alicia can Freeze opponents to interrupt bosses mid-attack or to provide some much-needed crowd control when taking on an army of monsters. Alicia has three separate Freeze abilities and can create Ice Body Armor Shields for extra protection.

Meilin Fisher

Backed by a summoned cat named Berry, Meilin Fisher is a Healer who provides fewer team-wide benefits than Min Byung-Gu but packs more punch. Best paired with fellow Water units such as Alicia Blanche and Seo Jiwoo, Meilin's Cuddle Passive status effect increases Water damage by 8%. Meilin can also remove Shields with a Basic Skill, help all team members restore HP, and provide Attack bonuses. Last but certainly not least, Meilin's Ultimate is a giant astral cat belly-flopping on your enemy, so don't miss out on adding this powerful Hunter to your roster.

Silver Mane Baek Yonhoo

Silver Mane Baek Yonhoo is a berserker capable of taking down even the strongest bosses with his insane Bleed damage and his ability to unleash even greater damage when backed against the wall. As Silver Mane's HP decreases, his Skill Damage grows exponentially stronger. This makes maximizing Silver Mane inherently risky, but if you're great at dodging incoming attacks or pair him with a Healer, Silver Mane is a damage-dealing juggernaut you'd be happy to have on your squad.

Baek Yonhoo

Meanwhile, the standard Baek Yonhoo doesn't need a Silver Mane to be one of, if not the best Breakers in Solo Leveling: Arise. Perfect for taking on boss-level threats, nearly all of Yonhoo's Skills provide great Break potential which only heightens when Advanced. Yonhoo's damage scales based on his Defense, making him naturally tanky, and he applies the Defense Decrease effect on enemies to make them a bit squishier.

Lee Bora

Lee Bora is an elite Dark Mage that perfectly complements other Hunters with Dark Skills. Bora deals an admirable amount of damage but shines when providing buffs for her teammates and debuffs for your foes. Bora's Enhancement Circle increases the Dark Elemental damage of all teammates standing within the radius and simultaneously cleanses debuffs holding back your crew. Bora's Charm effect is also a great plug-and-play option that increases damage taken by enemies when landed.

Hwang Dongsoo

The hot-head Hwang Dongsoo is the best Wind-type character for reasons besides his unrelenting damage output. Dongsoo's most notable ability is Urge to Kill which can Knock Down opponents and remove their Shields entirely. This unique skill makes Dongsoo great for combatting specific boss enemies and he's also self-sufficient since he can provide self-shielding. Dongsoo's Skills can also inflict various status effects like Stun, Airborne, and Knock Down.

Lim Tae-Gyu

The final S-Tier Hunter is the archer Lim Tae-Gyu. Tae-Gyu is a fantastic long-range Breaker with one of the hardest-hitting Ultimates in Solo Leveling: Arise. When his Ult is activated, Tae-Gyu can unleash 8 arrows at a target making it ideal for chunking down bosses and tankier opponents. Tae-Gyu is only limited by the long windup required by many of his Skills which may leave him vulnerable when being swarmed by a mob of powerful monsters.

A-Tier Hunters

HunterDescription

Woo Jinchul

Woo Jinchul is unfortunately the weakest SSR Hunter in Solo Leveling: Arise in large part because his damage scales based on his Defense and doesn't stack up to his elite counterparts. The only exception to Jinchul's underwhelming damage is his Ultimate which packs a big punch but has limited range. Still, Jinchul is a better pick than most SR Hunters because of his Skill cohesion and evasiveness. Several of Jinchul's Skills reset his Dash timers and in turn, using Dash increases the damage of his abilities.

Nam Chae-Young

Nam Chae-Young is arguably the most powerful SR Hunter because of her Freeze potential and impressive Break. Chae-Young's base Passive also increases damage dealt to Frozen targets by 20% which works great with her Skills and is especially powerful when paired with other Freeze-inflicting Hunters. All but one of Chae-Young's attacks provide Freeze or Break enabling her to interrupt abilities or stop a mob of monsters in their tracks. Chae-Young's damage output won't wow you, but she has a knack for setting up stronger teammates to attack vulnerable targets.

Park Heejin

Park Heejin's kit is built around her standout Skill, Wind Blade. Wind Blade applies Breeze to increase Ultimate Skill damage, helps your squad recover 15% of their Power Gauge, and instantly removes all debuffs on teammates. Heejin can also farm her Ultimate fairly quickly because her Passive reduces its Cooldown by 30%. Advancing Heejin can further reduce her Ultimate Cooldown and add a cleansing effect to her Air Cutter Skill.

Anna Ruiz

Anna Ruiz is an elite long-range Hunter powered by her decent Break potential and Poison arrows. Several of Anna's abilities create Poisonous Zones that deal damage over time and her Ultimate inflicts a Corrosive Poison effect. The Corrosive Poison effect deals 100 Break damage every three seconds and dishes out damage equal to 10% of the user's Attack every three seconds. Anna is also one of the SR Hunters that most benefits from Data Cards because advancing her can unlock a Bind status effect, amplify Break damage, and enhance the strength of Corrosive Poison.

Yoo Jinho

Yoo Jinho is one of three Hunters unlocked by default and he essentially has a few built-in upgrades because you can earn his Advancement Data cards by simply completing Challenges. This makes Jinho a great option for free-to-play Hunters or those without tons of Draw Tickets. Jinho can Stun enemies and send them Airborne, he's a fantastic Breaker and provides ample damage. At his base level, Jinho provides Defense increases, can self-heal, and helps his teammates recover HP. When Advanced, Jinho can gain the ability to provide Shields and Attack Increases for his pals.

Kang Taeshik

Kang Taeshik is an extraordinary SR damage dealer who can even contend with some of his SSR counterparts with the right investment. Taeshik's damage per second is elevated because of the Bleed effect built into his Passive and Consecutive Slicing Skill. When applied, the Bleed effect deals 0.6% of Taeshik's current HP every three seconds for thirty seconds.

B-Tier Hunters

Hwang Dongsuk

Hwang Dongsuk is an impressive Breaker who can punch above his SR rank with some investment. Dongsuk's Scorching Shield is a standout ability that can hit several targets and dish out Dark Elemental and Heavy Break damage. Dongsuk's Passive is also multifaceted because it increases his damage when above 75% HP and helps you recover HP over time when below 50% HP. Lastly, Dongsuk's Ground Smash and Ultimate Skill provide Stuns that can immobilize even the strongest monsters.

Han Song-Yi

Whether intentional or not, Han Song-Yi in Solo Leveling: Arise is most similar to her manhwa/anime counterpart because, despite her strengths, the high schooler is just not ready to compete with the professional Hunters. Han Song-Yi may be the worst Water unit in the game, but she's not without some redeeming qualities. Several of Song-Yi's Skills can inflict damage over time with her Poison effects, her unique Umbral Weapon mechanic is a reliable self-buff, and her Ultimate can Knock Down opponents.

Kim Chul

Kim Chul is the model tank. The slow-moving Hunter provides Shields for himself and his teammates, and his Iron Will and Fierce Roar Skills make him one of the best SR Breakers. Kim Chul boasts two Stun abilities and his Ultimate creates a Shield Zone that applies Shields to everyone within the zone while simultaneously reducing damage taken for all within the circle.

Lee Johee

Lee Johee is amongst the most difficult Hunters to place on the tier list because she may be the truest support character in Solo Leveling: Arise. Johee provides great team-wide healing, buffs the entire team's Attack, and her Ultimate provides full mana recovery for your squad. Johee also benefits from being integral to Jinwoo's story, allowing you to unlock several Data Advancement cards by completing Challenges. While Johee may be great at helping her teammates, her unimpressive damage is a liability that makes her pale in comparison to the SSR Healers.

C-Tier Hunters

C-Tier Hunters
HunterDescription

Song Chiyul

Song Chiyul is the first character unlocked through Solo Leveling: Arise's Story Mode, and though he's a decent Hunter to take on your early missions, he'll soon be outclassed by more formidable monsters. Still, Chiyul's Hellfire Skill is a great crowd control ability that can be followed up on by your stronger Hunters, and his Burn effects can provide a fair amount of damage over time. As one of just three free Hunters you'll unlock, you can prolong Chiyul's stay in your lineup by snagging a few Data cards needed to advance the flame-wielding veteran.

Jo Kyuhwan

Jo Kyuhwan is an overall lackluster Hunter with mediocre damage output and no utility outside of the damage over time provided by his Burn-inflicting Skills. Like Song Chiyul, Jo Kyuhwan should only be on your team if he's one of the only Hunters you've unlocked.

Park Beom-Shik

The final character in the C-Tier is Park Beom-Shik, and his Passive Ability, Father's Determination may be the only thing saving him from being as unusable as Kim Sangshik. Father's Determination activates when Beom-Shik falls below 30% HP and allows him to indefinitely spam the Spinning Strike ability while increasing his Attack Speed and Defense. Unfortunately, the niche nature of his Passive paired with a dangerously low HP pool and underwhelming damage multipliers make Beom-Shik near unusable against fearsome opponents.

D-Tier Hunters

D-Tier Hunters
HunterDescription

Kim Sangshik

Kim Sangshik is the only character in the D Tier because he's undoubtedly the worst Hunter in Solo Leveling: Arise. Though some of his Skills provide Break and others can inflict an Airborne status effect, Kim Sangshik's Skills are severely outmatched by just about everyone else on the roster. Worst of all, his damage multipliers are incredibly disappointing regardless of Level Up investment, making him one of the few Hunters without a niche. The only way to effectively use Mr. Kim is to keep his Level low, so you can farm his growth to complete "Level Up Hunters" Challenges and Missions without breaking the bank.
