Job HighlightsUse your data and statistics skills to support Washington State labor laws! As a Data Consultant 2 in the Fraud Prevention Labor Standards division, you’ll assist customers with the Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits (PWIA) online filing system as well as compile statistical data analysis and issues within the system. You’ll also assist in gathering data and creating reports for the semiannual wage update survey, a report published on the first business day of February and August, each year. This position is vital to the maintenance and update of published wage rates, so you’ll be spending each day knowing that you’re making a difference in Washington State.
DutiesSome Of What You’ll Do
- Acts as the administrator for Prevailing Wage Intents and Affidavits
- Develops and designs advanced statistical data analysis, reports and tools
- Provides complex and comprehensive analysis of statistics to the Industrial Statistician.
- Maintain a complex database system with many lists, reports, error prompts, and cross references that require advanced knowledge of online filing systems.
- Gather Data and create reports from the data warehouse and data.wa.gov Database.
- Compiles and provides data and assistance regarding semiannual wage and update survey.
- Works with outside stakeholders such as labor unions and contractors to gather wage update data and organize the wage database.
- Coordinates with the FPLS Webmaster to provide content updates to Prevailing Wage web pages.
QualificationsRequired:
- A Bachelor’s degree including college level course work in statistics and/or mathematics.
AND
- One year of year experience working as a Data Consultant 1 or equivalent.
OR
- Five years equivalent education/experience
Desired
- Knowledge of statistical theory and techniques, punctuation, and vocabulary. Ability to interpret data, make arithmetic computations quickly and accurately. Write clearly and concisely, follow oral and written instructions.
- Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Excel. Such as the ability to sort and filter data in large tables, create pivot tables, and use VLookup formulas.

For this position, telework is dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval. The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater, Washington.For positions where in-office work is necessary, the frequency of telework will be discussed with the supervisor of the position at the time of offer.
